do you ever think about the fact that steve was at the facility that bucky was being held at after he fell from the train

and that if he had time to explore the facility just a little bit more he might have found bucky

do you think bucky heard the commotion of steve storming the place and thought it was him coming to get bucky (again) but when the noise stopped and nobody showed up thats when buckys willpower faded away

what if bucky thought that steve knew he was alive but he figured steve just hated him and wasnt going to look for him so for 70 years bucky went through torture and thought that steve abandoned him
